2. What this site is
Curamenti is a free editorial almanac of writing, drawings and reference tables about fly fishing. It has no user accounts, sells no goods or services, and asks for no registration.
3. Editorial content
The essays, recipes and tables are written from general fly-fishing practice. Scene-setting passages and sample days are illustrative composites, marked “Illustrative account”, and do not describe real outings, real waters or real people. See the editorial note.
4. General information only
Everything here is offered as general information. It is written with care, but rivers, weather and fish vary, and no promise is made that any of it is complete, current or right for your water. Hatch dates and temperature thresholds in particular are approximate guides. Use your own judgement.
5. Regulations come first
Fishing seasons, licences, permits, catch limits, and rules about hooks, methods and the handling of fish differ between countries, regions and individual waters. It is your responsibility to know and follow the rules where you fish. Where anything in this almanac differs from local regulations or from the instructions of those who manage the water, the local rules apply.
6. Your safety
Rivers are dangerous. Wading, weather, flood water, slippery banks, hooks and remote places all carry risk. You fish, wade and travel entirely at your own risk. Wear eye protection when casting, check the forecast and the river level, and tell someone where you are going.
7. The game
Match the Hatch is a free card game provided for amusement and learning. Results are kept only in your own browser, for your own satisfaction.
8. Copyright
The text, drawings and design of this site are protected by copyright and belong to the publisher unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to quote short passages with a link back, and to print pages for your own use or for a club evening. Please ask before republishing whole articles or drawings. Fly patterns themselves belong to the tradition and to the tiers named beside them.
9. Correspondence
If you write to the publisher, you keep ownership of what you wrote. No part of a message will be published without your agreement. How email is handled is set out in the privacy policy.
10. Links
The almanac currently links to no outside websites. Should that change, the publisher is not responsible for the content or practices of sites it does not run.
11. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the site is provided as it is, without warranties, and the publisher is not liable for loss, injury or damage arising from the use of it or from reliance on anything it contains. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, or limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Italian law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection that applies where you live.
